Luxury and Comfort

Luxury and comfort are two words that are frequently used when describing interior spaces and transformations. I mean, who doesn’t want a luxurious and comfortable home?

But what does that actually mean and is it the same for everyone?

Objectively, there are a few things that I consider luxurious. Here are some of them:

1. Custom-made hand-crafted furnishings, with premium fill for soft furnishings

2. Exquisite artisanal lighting

3. High quality specialty wallpaper and/or custom murals

4. Handsome high quality natural wood floors

5. Fabulous and large format original artwork

6. Handsome architectural details, in keeping with the style of home

I could go on for a while but those are the ones that jump to mind :).

Does a luxurious and comfortable home mean it is aesthetically pleasing? Not always. The trick is sourcing and creating pieces and rooms that work together to provide the overall feeling of harmonious luxury and comfort. In arriving at that goal, you may or may not do all of the things on my list. However, striking that balance of knowing where to invest and where to limit investment, that is the reward of working with an interior design professional.
